A Place
Under the Stars…

The stunning location was the main reason we bought this house back in 2016. After two years of complete renovation, we now offer cozy accommodation in six themed rooms and four glamping tents. We also live here on the property, ensuring a personal and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests.

History
of Trapani House

The first official record we found of our property dates back to 1921. At that time, building No. 291 belonged to a farmer named Ignaz Schubert and later to his son. As you can see in the original photograph, the estate originally included a large barn. While many details of the past remain a mystery, local legend says a hidden treasure is buried somewhere on the grounds. We haven’t found it during our renovations yet – but maybe you’ll have better luck! 🙂

Why spend your holidays in the village of Růžová?

The village of Růžová is located 10 km from the town of Děčín, on the border of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. In the village, you will find several restaurants, a grocery store, bowling, a children's playground, and a football pitch with an artificial surface suitable for tennis, volleyball, and football.

The village of Růžová is an ideal starting point for hiking. Directly from Růžová, you can set out on a hike to the most famous spot in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, the Pravčice Gate (Pravčická brána). Prepare for a full-day trip that includes a boat ride through the Kamenice River gorges and passes through Mezná and Mezní Louka. Most of the route leads through fragrant forests and is guaranteed to delight you.

The village of Růžová includes the settlement of Kamenická Stráň, which features a collection of heritage-protected folk buildings known as timber-framed houses (podstávkové domy). A path leads from Kamenická Stráň to the Dolský Mill, famous from the fairy tale The Proud Princess. Rising just above the village of Růžová is Pastevní vrch (Hutberg) at an altitude of 402 m, featuring the new Růženka lookout tower, which offers unique views of Sněžník, Jedlová, Růžák, Papststein, and Lilienstein.

From Trapani House, you can head directly past Kovářův Hill or follow the new Petřín Nature Trail. You can also climb to the highest peak in the area, Růžovský vrch (619 m), which has been a national nature reserve since 1973, covering 184 hectares. Růžák is a basalt cone of volcanic origin, covered with natural mixed forests and thermophilic flora.

In the village, you can also visit the local Rubens Soap Factory, which produces soaps using its own original family recipe over a hundred years old, or visit the Rosehill Indian Village. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a newly built pump track.

The landmark of the village that will catch your eye upon arrival is the Baroque Church of St. Peter and Paul. The church was built on the site of an old church between 1710 and 1712 under the patronage of the manor owner from the Clary-Aldringen family.

Only a few kilometers away, a pleasant walk or a bike ride will take you to the Janov lookout tower or the Belveder viewpoint. Following the hiking trails, you can reach the Jetřichovice lookouts, visit the military fortifications, or the forest theater in Srbská Kamenice. You can also venture into neighboring Germany to explore its natural beauty, the spa town of Bad Schandau, or nearby Dresden for history and shopping.
